Geocache Description:


My first cache located near the Miramichi Salmon Conservation Center which is appropriate considering my user name. This hatchery is the oldest, continuous operated, fish hatchery in Canada. The hatchery began operations in 1873 which is the same year that the following events occurred in Canadian history:
• Northwest Mounted Police formed
• PEI joined the Canadian Confederation
• Sir John A. MacDonald resigns as Prime Minister
The hatchery is opened to the public and there are tours offered during the summer months.

Cache contains the usual trading items along with a travel bug for the “First to Find”.
