Johnny Blanchard was born in Minneapolis, MN on February 26th,1933. He played 8 seasons with the powerhouse New York Yankees of the 1960's. These teams were perennial World Series participants with some pretty fair ballplayers: Mantle, Maris, Berra and Ford... In 1961 Blanchard had a great view of the historic home run race between Mantle and Maris, chasing Ruth. Blanchard often hit 5th or 6th in that line-up, providing some real Minnesota Power!
