Post and beam construction is a method of construction which uses large, widely spaced members to provide structural support. It is a principle method of wood construction which offers the designer the possibility of combining function with the unique beauty of wood.

I’m a civil engineer and spent the first half of my working career designing large buildings. I really admire the beauty and craftsmanship found in post and beam buildings.

So as I looked for a spot to hide this cache in the wooded park, I was reminded of the beauty of the forest as well as the products that emanate from them. So here’s to you mother nature for creating a lovely and durable work of art.
