This cache is located near scenic High Falls in Philmont. It's a
great place to go all year round. The pool at the base of the
waterfall is quite deep and a nice place to trout fish in the
summer, and in the winter, much of the waterfall freezes and gives
a unique and beautiful sight. To give an idea of the scale of this
waterfall, if you look closely to the top right side of the falls
in the photo, you will see a 3-story building, the Village
Warehouse. The waters here fall a distance just 26 feet less than
those at Niagara Falls.
The hike to the cache is about a half mile each way along
Columbia Land Conservancy trails. Use the parking coordinates
provided below. Parking is available on Roxbury Road, which is off
of Main Street.
