01/09/06 Updates
1) The business has changed names from Fire Mountain to Ryans...
This does not affect our event (unless you needed the hint) so see
you there.
2) BlindReff will mark 1000 finds at the event.
3) We have about 40 people coming already
4) More door prizes just keep getting added so make sure you have
your name in the hat by posting that you will attend.
What better way to start your geocaching day (or year) than to
join your geocaching pals and meet some of the geocachers you
haven’t met yet – you know, put new names and faces together. There
certainly have seen a lot of new names in the logs this year and we
want to meet you.
The event is at 8:00am on Saturday, January 27th. We have
a banquet room reserved that seats 55 people, so we will have lots
of room. Easy to get to, the restaurant is just off of I-85. You
choose the type of breakfast you want. From the buffet, from the
menu ala carte or how about watching your omelet cooked to order at
the grille.
We will do our best to make it a good time, past event caches in
the Concord area were pretty good and drew cachers from Rockingham
to Burlington to Winston-Salem to Lincolnton to Charlotte to Rock
Hill, so come on down – or up – or over! This is a great way to
swap geocoins, travel bugs, Jeeps, or even geocaching gear.
Please let me know how many will be in your party and put this
event on your calendar right away. Respond by Jan 20th if at all
possible so that we can have an idea on how to arrange the tables
in our room and give restaurant management the courtesy of a pretty
accurate count. Arriving unannounced creates problems for your
event organizers as well as the restaurant folks, so please be
courteous and sign up. Signing up and not attending is better than
showing up and we aren't prepared for you. Besides, those signed up
ahead of time will have their names thrown in the hat for the big
door prize! Yes, you have to be present to win, but if you have to
leave before the drawing, you still get your name in the hat! There
will also be other door prizes for furthest distance traveled, most
caches found, etc.
PS: For those of you that attended "Breakfast in Concord" last
July this is the same place (and yes I did steal most of the text
from YB and the Reff!) I had so much fun there that i wanted to
make this a regular event.
Anyone that wants to help or has any door prizes they can throw
in just drop me a line...
Can’t wait! See you there.
RosaBella.
