This cache is the first travel bug hotel in Benton County and is rated 5 stars for service. No reservations are required and it is muggle-free. Unfortunately, no continential breakfast is offered. It is named in memory of the Cherokee Nation's relocation from North Carolina to Oklahoma which followed this route.
Terrain in flat and clear with a very short walk from the road. The container is clear but is placed in a large, non-traditional "hiding place", which should be fairly obvious. Permission for this cache was given by the property owner and a "neighbor" has since built a house not too far away.
There is room for a number of trackable items, that is, travel bugs, geocoins, and jeeps. Take or leave them as you wish; they need to keep moving. You may want to visit this cache again to exchange them and that is fine. Please remember to log trackables both out and into this cache so that they don't get "lost".
This cache is located a bit off US 62 just east of Garfield. Take the gravel road but do not cross the railroad tracks. It is best to park on the north side of the gravel road at the point indicated by your GPS receiver.
This cache is a good location to leave or pick up bugs wanting to head east or west or maybe even north toward Branson.
January 17, '07, the hotel was increased in size by 85%, which will allow many more guests. Feel free to stop by and leave, exchange or take travel bugs or geocoins anytime you have some that needs moving on.
As a bonus, just west of this cache is a beautiful and easily accessible bench mark, GF 0968, barely off the gravel road at N 36E 27.056, W 093E 57.835 with an orange witness post.
