Rough Mountain Traditional Cache

Cache located on Rough Mountain in the Ouachita chain. Elevation: 2050 feet
Nearest road: 3.5 miles either direction
Probable hike distance: 7 miles
Great camping spots all around the cache site and springs/creek nearby
Amazing scenery but the terrain rating is true. You need to be a somewhat experienced hiker to try this.
Minimum equipment required: 2 liters of water, great shoes, food and a first aid kit
You may want to bring: a tent and sleeping bag
The best way to attempt this cache would be a six-mile through hike of the Ouachita Trail from the Winding Stair Trailhead to the Big Cedar Trailhead. This is absolutely gorgeous territory, a truly rewarding place. Come get it.
