Geocache Description:

You are searching for evidence of Aliens in Area 47!

We all know the tragic story of what happened to Joe and Alice Farnsworth the night the aliens landed and ate everything on the menu, plus the entire restaurant. If you don't know that story, refer to GCXW67, EATS for the gruesome details. Few people know the rest of the story....

Zeke Fowler had a strange sense of humor. So when the Farnsworth's opened their cafe in 1952, Zeke opened a gas station just down the road. His sign tried to connect this nice cafe to his gas station, at which he charged the overpriced cost of 31.9 cents per gallon. Outrageous, really!

Zeke's sign, hand lettered on an old board, simply said:
EAT HERE, GET GAS. He thought it was funny but the Farnsworth's hated it and him. The night their cafe was eaten to the ground, and them with it, Zeke saw a huge spinning disk lift slightly off the ground and head directly toward his sign on a tall power pole. What happened after that will be your job to discover.

And while you are out there, look for Zeke wandering around and muttering to himself. You may even discover the new replacement for Zeke's gas station. If you look hard enough, you will also find a USGS survey marker nearby. Do not disturb it, but you may look.

The safest way to drive to this location is to turn off Highway 58 at the road to California City. You will find a good dirt road to the remnants of Zeke's sign without having to fight traffic. It is a short distance from the turn off to California City.
