Geocache Description:

Do not move any stones

Back in 1973, at Easter, little live chicks were dyed pretty colors & sold at the egg distributors. Articles were written that this was cruel & the chicks mostly died from the dye so I didn't buy any. Then I thought this ChcknLdy could give a couple of those cute chicks a good ... if only short ... life My daughter named hers Cinnamon and my son named his Henrietta ... we called her Henri. Guess what?! They lived Then one Saturday morning, a cat spotted them in the yard! Took off after them. Henri went over the back fence. Cinnamon ran around the house, down the driveway and into the street. My Mother-in-law was there & grabbed a broom. What a site: Cinnamon squawking, the cat on her heels & Ma with the broom in the air screaming at the cat Cinnamon flew onto a neighbor's porch as they ate breakfast at their kitchen table! The cat gave up and went the other way. Ma got the hens home safe. All the families on the block laughed at that site for weeks We decided to find a nice farm where Henri & Cinnamon could enjoy laying eggs & be safe. Hence, this cache is in fond memory of our adventure. I can't believe as I looked back in my albums that I only have one picture when we introduced the cute chicks to our dog, Sam. They are under a screen lid but she was so good with them as they became part of the family. The cache is filled with cute chicks and Cinnamon sticks ... our family's favorite spice. (these sticks are from a craft store, have had for years, scent gone so animals shouldn't bother cache, not edible) For FTF: Snoopy coin pin FTF: meandmydogs
