This cache is close to my house so I'm experimenting with a new type of camo cloth. Supposed to be weatherproof so I'm putting it to the test. Please leave a comment in your log if you see any problems with it.
Bringing you back to Cascade Valley, or it might be the Merriman Valley, depends on what map you are looking at.
What I am sure of is that you will hunt for the cache which is hidden in Akron's Memorial Parkway Soccer Park. The Summit County Metro Parks, who has a ban on caching, has a trail that runs the eastern property line with this city park. To hunt this cache, stay in the city soccer park and off the Metro Parks trail.
The only entrance to this park is from Memorial Parkway. The city finally put a nice big sign in front of the place, can't miss it. Plenty of parking, you'll want to park south of the fenced dog park that is visible from the parking area.
From this parking lot, the hike back to the cache is .4 miles. So a roundtrip will almost be a one mile hike across the Big Green. If you come to hunt in the winter, it'll be a nice long walk across the Big White.
Park is open from dawn to dusk which means daylight caching only, no night caching. Bring your cache pups for the exercise and social opportunities at the dog park. Kite flying is good down here too.
This is the hiking viking's 93rd cache in the greater Akron area.
