About this cache
Back in the woods about 0.3 miles behind a Flagstaff park is
this coffee can sized cache filled with a little prehistory. We
hope families and kids will enjoy and maintain the theme. Got a
dino? Trade a dino! You can start on the FUTS trail but will have
to leave it and explore a less heavily used and fun maze of trails
crisscrossing the area nearby. The hike is a steady but not steep
climb, with a little scrambling at the end and some fallen tree
crossings.
Logistics
This cache should be approached by starting at Thorpe Park; to
approach it from the top of Mars Hill you'd have to cross private
property. The cache is within 30 yards of a public trail leading
out of Thorpe Park, and despite the occasional nearby fence, you
are
not trespassing or going somewhere you shouldn't. From
the parking lots at the park it's less than 0.5 miles on a gentle
climb that should be fine for the smallest hikers.
