Geocache Description:

Paved trail, flat and level.

This cache is on the Easton Rail-Trail which runs along the bed of the former 54-mile train line from Clayton, Delaware to Oxford, Maryland. It's course runs through an interesting mix of residential, industrial, agricultural, and wooded areas. The first train left Easton in 1869 with a haul of peaches, headed to New York. Passenger service existed until 1949, and the last train left Easton in 1982. The depot still stands, however it now functions as an office and is not open for tours. The cache is a short, easy walk from the depot, but this paved trail continues for a good distance in either direction and is perfect for bikes and strollers. Cache is a round clear 1 quart plastic container festooned with yellow tape.
