Geocache Description:

This cache will take you on a short stroll through Woodbridge Island. Since the inception of Milnerton in 1897, this area was considered prime recreational area which boasted excellent facilities for all its visitors. Although things have changed, it still remains on of the recreational hotspots on the Cape West Coast.

Waypoint 1: S33 52.927 E18 29.413
At this point you will get a good view of the old wooden bridge which gave this area its name. The wooden bridge was built in 1899 (during the Anglo-Boer war) by the Royal Engineers to give military access across the lagoon to the "island", and via this up the coast. It was made of jarra wood (Australian Mahogany) and has until just recently been used by pedestrians. The new bridge was opened on 10th December 19XY

Waypoint 2: S33 52.(5+Y)0(X/4) E18 29.(Y/2)5(X+1)
At this point you will see a plaque commemorating the sinking of the ship the Nieuw Haerlem. While facing the plaque you will see another historical landmark of this area. Find 0(Z)YK004 to proceed to your final destination.

Final Destination: S33 52.(Z+1)(Y/2)(X) E18 29.(Z-2)(Z-5)3
