This cache is located near McKellar Creek along Highway 17'
For several months, I wanted to put a cache in this area (i.e., everytime I passed the creek while driving).
The cache container, a small peanut butter jar with a red lid covered in grey duct tape, had the following original contents:
- "The Toilet TB"
- logbook and pencils
- 3 compass keychains
- Lions Club of Marathon Free Ticket
- Toy Soldier
- 2 1967 British Half Pennies
- 2 1967 British Pennies.
This cache is for small trading items - remember to replace items taken with a new item.
The cache should be accessible during the winter if there is not too much snow. Please put the cache back in the exact location where you found it, so the challenge remains for future finds.
A parking area is located east of the cache and McKellar Creek on the South side of the highway.
OCTOBER 2017 - CACHE CONTAINER WENT MISSING WITH THE ROAD CONSTRUCTION ON THE OVERPASS OVER THE CREEK. NEW CACHE CONTAINER WAS PUT INTO PLACE ON OCTOBER 25, 2017 IN APPROXIMATELY THE SAME LOCATION.
OCTOBER 31, 2017 - CONSTRUCTION COMPLETED - CACHE CONTAINER REPLACED - COORDINATES ADJUSTED SLIGHTLY - NEW CONTAINER - NEW SWAG - GC DEPOSITED TO CONTINUE ITS JOURNEY
