Geocache Description:

A peanut butter jar in Lake Crabtree County Park

In October 2006, after nearly 3 years, Crabby Cache, which we had adopted from the original owner, sadly disappeared. We archived that one, but placed a new cache about 100' away (on higher ground less prone to flooding). It's not Crabby Cache, but hopefully it will be enjoyable. About 3 years later, that fairly large tupperware-like container was damaged and leaking, so a new container (peanut butter jar) was placed on January 16, 2010 just a few feet from the previous one.

Park at the "Open Play" area in Lake Crabtree County Park. Follow the Old Beech Nature Trail loop to the point where it turns back near the old sawmill site. From there, it's a slightly more than 100 yard easy bushwhack (no dense brush, very few thorns, only a small stream about a foot wide to cross) but GPSr reception might not be good.
