The site is open daily, year-round, from 5 AM-7PM Standard time and
until 8:30 PM during Daylight Savings Time.
The site is named for the blackwater creek that flows through
the property, connecting Lake Walk-in-Water (Lake Weohyakapka) with
Lake Rosalle. Characterized by their tea-colored water, blackwater
creeks are the most widely distributed and numerous riverine
systems in the southeastern U.S. Very few, however, have escaped
disturbance.
Because this is an environmentally sensitive area, please show
respect by remaining on established trails. Practice CITO and
observe, but do not disturb or collect natural features. Please
sign in at the information board in the parking lot, and note that
you're there to geocache. Polk County's Environmental Lands Program
is receptive to caching. Signing in shows that you appreciate
this.
