A traditional cache to honour those who serve the blind.
This cache is also an INBOUND ONLY STARGATE from Southern California.
My father attended his first Geocaching event as a result of us hosting; "Australian Customs", (GCYT4H) which we setup to introduce a number of Jeeps and coins into Australia. His interest in geocoins and cache hunting blended with his pre-retirement employment as an Australian Soldier.
In retriement my father continues to serve the Nation as an approved Guide Dog Trainer. At age 6-8 weeks, selected puppies from the Guide Dogs breeding program are placed in his care. In residency, they are housetrained and introduced to society, as well as having their own "seeing eye dog" lessons at the Guide Dog complex at Bald Hills. In recent years he has been fortunate and had both of his two prior dogs graduate and placed into service with the vision impaired.

He currently has a third dog in training, Hutch.
Update 2010: Not all dogs are successful at service. Hutch made it through training, however, he failed on his final exam. He was retried from service as is currently residing with a family as their family dog.
Update 2011: following the death of his wife, my father has decided to suspend his training of Guide Dogs. If by chance you see a red hair gentleman wearing glasses watching you - please thank him for his service.
This cache is located near to a RETIREMENT COMMUNITY and maintained by my father. Please be aware of the noise you make. There is NO NEED to step onto any pine bark to reach this cache.
