Geocache Description:

Pack a lunch and plan to enjoy a nice cache along the Potomac River that will take you to three stages and through two parks (three if you are crazy enough to start from Great Falls). Either way this cache starts at the coordinates above at Riverbend Park.

Riverbend Park
Riverbend is a Fairfax County Park available to all, with no charge for admission. Come see the Visitor Center and the geology inside as well as all the animal and plant life you will see on the hike to and from the cache. Also you might. Visit the park's web site and plan to come during scheduled special events year round. Look for donation boxes to help support the park. Also you can rent boats here now but only on the weekends. The "other" park which is part of the hike you will take is another un-named gem owned by the Northern Virginia Regional Park Authority (NVRPA). Either way you will be walking along a "aqua blazed" trail and the only reason you need to deviate is to make the finds on the two stages.


Cache Locations
Using the cluesheet start at stage one (posted coordinates), then walk upstream and collect the information needed to get the location for stages two and three which are "all" along the trail within the confines of Riverbend Park. Stage one is a sign that contains information you will need later (use camera). Stage two is a is odd container I thought would be fun to use and contains a simple code for stage three. To convert the code you will need information from stage one. If you do not get the info then at least you will have had a nice walk.

Notes:
The coordinates given are not the location of the final cache. They are for the first item you need to start your voyage. Make sure you have a camera so you can take photos of all items needed (just in case you make a mistake) to complete this cache.
