Geocache Description:

This cache has been placed in Bilston Woods, near Roslin in Midlothian, Scotland. From the cache site there is an excellent view of Dryden Tower, a 19th century Gothic folly, which stands in the middle of a grassy field. Do not enter as it is structurally dangerous. If you approach the tower from the cache site, dogs must kept firmly under control where livestock are being farmed.

If you follow the path to/from Bilston, you will currently notice several tents and tree houses in the woods - these are home to environmental activists campaigning against the planned bypass through these woods. More can be read about this here.

It is recommended that you find this cache as part of the Midlothian Walk highlighted here. If you wish to get the bus from Edinburgh, take the Lothian Bus #37 or 47 to Bilston or the 15 to Roslin. Timetables can be found here

Under wooded areas, the GPSr reception might be poor, but approaching from the direction of the tower the reception is good and at the time of placement there was great reception at the cache site itself.
