North Carolina Central Area Cache Loggers Enterprise (NC-CACKLE)
is a loosely formed group of cachers dedicated to the betterment of
GeoCaching in the Sanford/Lee County and surrounding areas.
Lee County and the neighboring areas realized a few years back
that one of the requirements to move from a rural agricultural
based economy to an industrial and commercial economy was to move
away from individual well systems and onto municipal water
supplies. To support that effort, many water towers were erected
around the area.
This is the first in a series touring the area water towers!
(OK, well actually, Garnerway did a couple near here first, but
this will be the first of a NEW Series, as suggested by GranPa
Alex, the first CACKLE!)
This particular tower is in the Center of Sanford
which is the Center of Lee County, which is the
Center of North Carolina!
The County Sheriff's Office, County Courthouse, and Main Post
Office are within a quarter mile of this location - be mindful of
muggles!!!
