Geocache Description:

The Point is Sandy. The Point of the cache is to take a long walk - without crossing any contour lines. The Point of it is to enjoy the views from this stunning beach. The walk is easy; the terrain rating is raised to take into account the distance to travel.

Cache at the End of the Rainbow, Sandy Point at 7 Mile Beach

Since The Point of this cache isn't to confound non-locals (or people caching with a GPSr without a basemap), please park near S42 50.541 E147 32.483. However I would remind you, as whenever you are leaving your cacheMobile unattended in a lonely place, do not leave valuables in your vehicle; ours was broken into while placing this cache.

It is also not The Point of this cache to prick your legs with ouchy grasses or to happen upon snakes: please round The Point and not very far along you will come to a track that will take you close to GZ. It is then just a short walk from the track to GZ through short or no grass.

This beach is horse friendly (between the hours of 5pm and 10am), dog friendly (on lead), child friendly (though they might find the walk to the cache a bit lengthy), and as the beach sand is fairly wet it's even bicycle and pram friendly (if you are happy / insane enough to push a pram for a several kms - CraigRat!).

It isn't the least noisy cache in the world: you'll hear the booming of the surf, as well as the occasional booming of the Big Birds (JetStar and VirginBlue mainly) as they round the bay to come in for a landing.

UPDATE: Apparently walking to this cache will take you along a nudist beach! In most seasons in Tasmania this probably isn't an issue, however perhaps lone females should be aware. And lone males. And families.

I hope you get The Point!
