Geocache Description:

This is the 4th in a series of Caches placed in Blair County Historical Society Sites. The 4 can be done in a loop of about 60 miles or done one at a time. Take tweezers

Baker Mansion was built as a Greek-Revival style home in 1849 at a cost of $15,000. This showplace was the home a Elias Bake,, owner of the Allegheny furnace. The BCHS opened the building as a museum in 1922 and purchased the building in 1941 from the Baker heirs for $10,500. Another real estate bubble burst.

The mansion is located in Altoona across from Mansion Park football field off Logan Blvd. When you leave the mansion, you will drive by the Allegheny furnace site if you go toward Union Avenue.
Bring your own pen.
