Geocache Description:

This is another in a series of 4 at the Blair County Historical Society sites. The 4 can be done in a loop of about 60 miles or one at a time. If you are just looking for the Dick Schoolhouse, it is located along route 867 just south of Roaring Spring. Dick Schoolhouse road is to the L if you are headed South and the school is tucked in where the roads join.

Dick Schoolhouse was built in 1832 by the Dick and Cowen families on the Daniel Dick farm. It was a private school at first but in 1834 opened to the public. Another real estate bargain, it was purchesed in 1920 for $125. Central High School teacher Robert Chonko and his students ahve been working to clean up and restore the site.

The cache is a small tupperware food container and is located across the stream
