This cache has been archived.

hollora: I am very sorry - but since I am no longer in the area and this seems to have gone missing I am going to archive it. This is a very historic place and if anyone wishes to use my historical research and reuse the site - please feel free to do so. Cache on - cache happy!

Geocache Description:

Located in a Historic Area of town the name of this creek is now Mill Creek. The cache title indicates the name the Indian's called this creek years ago. If you look up stream you can see the footings of where an old mill used to rest. This cache is part of the Maine R.O.S.E. Series and is meant to be really obvious, simple and easy. It's perfect for cachers who want a quick find, or who are not up for a physical challenge. The purpose of this series is to promote caching to everyone, and create a fun family cache experience. Some fellow cachers get discouraged by vague descriptions and caches that appear to be difficult hides. Our attempt here is to make the cacher aware of the entire situation before they attempt the cache. If you have any comments that should be added, please let us know.

Directions: This cache is located in South Orrington off Route 15 on a small, side, dead-end road. The name of the cache is the Native American name for the body of water. The site is near a very old mill site up-stream and is frequented by fishermen during the season. Please use stealth so this is not muggled.

Parking: There is space for a single car to pull to the side of this road near the cache site. In winter, snow may inhibit pulling to the side of the road and doing so may reduce this access road to one lane so please use caution. This can be a busy road.

Difficulty: This cache has been rated 1.5 for difficulty because the cache is not in plain sight. You will need to remove the cache from a man made structure on the side of the road.

Terrain: This cache has been rated 1.5 for terrain because there is no trail.

Distance: The distance from the place to pull to the side of the road to the cache is roughly 20-80 feet, depending on where you choose to park.

Cache Container: The container is a small rectangular Lock N' Lock type container.

More Information: This series has been developed in collaboration with Cache Maine and Becket. We have each committed to hiding a dozen rose caches in our area. The release of these roses will be sporatic in hopes to have three dozen live by Valentine's Day 2007.
