The Eyes of Cotati Mystery Cache

This cache has been archived.

Nomex: As there's been no cache to find for months, I'm archiving it to keep it from continually showing up in search lists, and to prevent it from blocking other cache placements. If you wish to repair/replace the cache sometime in the future, just contact us (by email), and assuming it meets the guidelines, we'll be happy to unarchive it.

Geocache Description:

A night cache in the suburbs? Yes, it is! Cache is NOT at the posted coords - the coords are for the starting point of the Path of the Eyes.

Like the idea of a night-only cache, but don't feel like hiking for hours? Here's one that's paved road and trail for all but the last few feet. Total distance from start to end is a little over 1/4 mile.

To find this cache, you'll need to look for the Eyes of Cotati. We're all used to trying to avoid the stares of muggles while we're out caching, but for this cache, you want to see eyes looking back at you.

To see the eyes, you'll need a strong flashlight. To find the cache, you'll need to know the Code of the Eyes:

- When you see one eye, you're going in the right direction - continue onward.
- When you see two eyes, the Path of the Eyes makes a turn. Stop, and look in all directions for more eyes.
- When you see three eyes, you've found the cache location. Stop and search.
- When you see four eyes, you've gone too far. Turn around and go back the way you came.
- When you see two eyes that are moving, it's probably a neighborhood cat. You can stop and ask for help, but you might not find out anything useful :)
