Hawling Ghost Letterbox Hybrid

This cache has been archived.

flyingmoose: Been wanting to pull this cache for a long time. Not because it has caused me any effort, but for two reasons and one being the unique container. Honestly I am shocked it hadn’t been stolen like some of my other caches. Thanks to all who enjoyed it but time to make room for “just another cache!”

Geocache Description:

"Miss Emily, I know you are tired and want to get back out there and help with the search but I need you to tell me everything that happened yesterday from the time you woke up to when you came by my place..."

Well, Gwen and I got up and fed the pigs like we always do and then gathered the eggs from the chickens for breakfast. after cooking up some eggs and grits Gwen got up and ready for school. I walked her near Howard's Chapel so she could meet up with Bridgid and Trevor and walk the rest of the way to school. While walking back I passed by MJB's house and he asked if I wanted to swap some eggs and ham for some milk, so I obliged and told him to come by and pick it up later this morn when I have had time to cut off the right amount for him. After leaving his place I noticed a man at the Silent Spring but thought nothing of it as he could be a traveller stopping for some water.

Normally Gwen comes home when the light hangs above the trees this time of year. Assuming she was playing with Bridgid and Trevor, I decided to get dinner started. After the sun disappeared and the food went cold while I decided to look for her. I first went to Robert's house to borrow a horse and then he joined me and we went by all the houses along Sundown and Zion all the way up to Brookeville past the Oakley Cabin to which we ended the nights search at your house.

"Well Miss Emily, we will do our best to find her but to be honest we have never dealt with a missing person so I am sure she will turn up soon enough. I bet she got lost and we find her sleeping near a rock or something."

The search came up empty nothing was to be found....

Weeks later.......(getting to the letterbox)

Waking up to sound of the pigs causing a din, my first concern is that someone is trying to steal them. I get my rifle, jacket and boots on and see who it is only to see no sign of anything outside. Pitch black with a warm breeze hitting my face which reminds me of the summer breeze yet it is near winter, I ask who is out there and I get no answer, soon I see to the East a light. I walk towards it only to see what I think is a person holding a lamp. I call out to them only to not get an answer so I begin to walk faster and faster as we go down the greenway. I get a good distance to where I see the person holding the lamp on the big rock in the stream, but they are not holding a lamp, it is them that is glowing. The figure walks towards me as I am on the trail and passes me to the rocks on the hill and signals me to follow. As I do I become weary of this but my body cannot stop following. We stop at the base of the rocks and that is when I lost my ability to stand, the figure was Gwen and what she has shown me is.........
