At the top of my favorite hike on the eastside. You will get 360
degree views of the eastside of the island.
Therer are 3 ways to get to the top of the giant. My way is by far
the quickest and easiest. You will be in the shade the whole time
too. Its about 45 mins up and 30 mins down, the begining is the
steepest and hardest part. To get to trail head drive up Kuamoo
road from the ocean (look for the old coco palms hotel) make a
right on Kamalu(look for wailua country store) drive almost to the
end of Kamalu and make a right on Lokelani, Drive to the end and
park in culdesac. Begin hike here. When you reach the very top you
will come to a cement post, about 15 feet straight ahead past the
post is a brass benchmark. cache should be near here. Hanapaa p.s.
dont miss the cool cave. back where you scramble up the rocky area
to get to the ridgeline to go to cache, instead of going right look
for skinny trail to left, it will be in the skinny guava trees. So
I hear the cache is out in the open, would the next person please
rehide it well and email me with new coords and hint, thanks
