Scottish Cache Bash 2007 Event Cache

This cache has been archived.

Flyfishermanbob: I'm guessing everyone has had enough time to log this by now, there are still loads of TB's and coins logged into the event , but I'm sure these will move on soon....

( Can you check if you have any still shown as logged in please ? )

I've got the Event Book which I'll pass on next year, and a baseball cap signed by nearly everyone which I'll treasure forever .

Geocache Description:

Scottish Cache Bash 2007 by "The West Coast Worthies"
Saturday June 9th 2007

There haven’t been many Bashes in the West Side of the Country, and some of the local Worthies would like to make amends.
June was selected to avoid the bank holiday weekend traffic and to ease the problem of accommodation booking.

When and Where

Map.

Saturday 9th June ...The area chosen is Loch Lomond, possibly the most popular tourist area in Scotland, and with justification. The location is a campsite, which is on the “West Highland Way”, offers camping and B/B facilities; a bar and restaurant and more permanent shelter in the form of “Wigwams “ for those who might wish to avoid camping in a tent.

There are loads of local sites for touring caravans, and ample B/B / Hotel facilities along the length of the loch.

There will be new caches released for the event, and there are many challenging and rewarding caches to be sought locally.

Format will be F.F.B's F.B on Friday evening (+ keepsakes for the 1st 12 children to arrive) , an opportunity to seek out old and new caches on Saturday, and finally the chance to socialise and share a meal at the BeinGlas campsite restaurant. (with after dinner events, including moving travelbugs)

Sunday would be free to mop up any unfound caches , or perhaps an opportunity for a group event.
Update..... Para Handy ( aka Ninja Pete) may be offering free transport to this cache:-
Uglaswim
A golden opportunity to get that annoying wee red flag off your memory map ...
Ps If you want to get back you'll need to make a donation to Billy Twiggers charity...oops

Update 2
Gilj will be making their Dingy available on Saturday...for the DIY sailors .....

Yes, as you’ve guessed , this is a provisional event sheet. The details will be added later, however accommodation in the area does become “strained” during the summer, and delaying making accommodation arrangements could spoil your enjoyment, so its better to post the event sooner than later.

Transport details.

The campsite is on the main West coast bus route and has a train station 2 miles away at Ardlui .
