Woot! What a great expression! I used it a lot in the online gaming community I used to be a part of. Anyway, I just noticed after looking at the cache page and seeing your post on there that your number shows 1999. Very cool! But I'll bet you're behind on your logs. Burgi Dad and I [8D] [8D] have agreed -[^]- this cache has been unusual from the beginning: When it was freshly placed, becauses other local GXers thought the "If Ida" honoree, C4ch3m3ifuc4n [:p], could/should/would be first, no one came to find it. We [8D] [8D] actually encouraged the MEFTFs, the HighCountryHikers [|)] [:X], to come here just to "break the seal", so to speak, as it was already over a week old. Here it is, now, over a year later, and rather than expecting C4ch3m3ifuc4n [:p] to find it first, because we [8D] [8D] knew he [:D] planned to save it for his 999th, we've [8D] [8D] decided to make him [:p] the last. Thanks to all who came to try this vertical challenger! With a flurry of smileys [8D] [^] [;)] [:o] [|)] [:D] [8D] and an abundance of affection, this cache is now archived. Look for another one nearby very soon!

Geocache Description:

Two series for the cache of one! This cache is in the "If Ida" series as well as in the "MoLaNaPa" series.

First, let me explain the two series: MoLaNaPa is the GXers term for Moccasin Lake Nature Park series that highlight this Environmental and Energy Education Center in Clearwater. Please see park hours and admission info below.

Secondly, "If Ida" is short for "If Ida known you were coming, Ida baked you a cake." This series will celebrate, in a variety of ways, GXers we have met, both in the wild and at GeoEvents.

This one is for our other GXing "son", C4ch3m3ifuc4n. He's the one that is not vertically challenged. Now THERE's a long story, in and of itself! However, we're here for a GX, so on with the cache page: Come check this one out when you get a chance. Watch out, though: there may be eyes watching you, so be very discrete on your way here!


The cache is a decon container hidden WELL above ground level. You WILL be off the beaten path (until and unless GXers beat a path themselves). However, that's because when we gave the park ranger a choice of two locations, she chose one that could not be viewed from the usual path or the Pavilion so as not to give any GeoMuggle children the mistaken impression that children were meant to climb trees in MoLaNaPa... No, only grown adults (GXers) who like to have fun (GX) with a little risky business (GXing) are allowed to climb trees here!

On a personal note, this is our 99th cache placement. C4ch3m3ifuc4n has a special fondness for caches that happen to land on a 99. For him, we dedicate this, our 99th cache, and promise to surrender our Always Looking GeoCoin when this becomes one of his milestone caches.

If you enjoy coming to this park, please consider placing a cache of your own here. The main criteria, other than GC.com's, are to make it easily accessible from the pathways, complete a GeoCache Appl (also available from Cliff Norris, Park Supervisor) and to respect the educational and environmental goals of MoLaNaPa itself.

Located within the City of Clearwater, Moccasin Lake Nature Park is a 51 acre nature preserve offers the visitor a chance to experience the way native Florida used to be, as well as learn about environmental and energy conservation.  Contained within this City Park is a five acre lake, nature trails, animal, plant, and energy exhibits, an interpretive center, and a multi-purpose pavilion.

$3/Adult, $2/Children 3 - 12, Free for under 3.
Park Hours:
Tuesday through Friday: 9:00 AM through 5:00 PM
Saturday and Sunday: 10:00 AM through 6:00 PM
Closed most Mondays.
