Geocache Description:

Located in roadside park at Jennings, Kansas

Czech us out! That is the words you will find on a sign just a few yards to the east of this cache. Jennings was founded by Czechs and Germans. The Czechs lived mostly north of town and the Germans to the south. A museum, newly added on to, is located in the downtown area. Also see the WPA city auditorium located on the south part of downtown. The cache is located a few feet south of the old Rock Island railroad line. This was a main line across northern Kansas for the railroad and was the track for the Rock Island Rocket - a passenger train. An old WPA lake bed is located northwest of town. The town was originally locted northeast of here and was called Slab City. Enjoy the heritage of this great town in Northwest Kansas.
