Geocache Description:

Ever had trouble finding a cache due to the satellite gods messing with you or the cache being in such a place as to rarely get a useful accuracy? An interesting historical location that I found appears quite out of place - but one that deserved a spur-of-the-moment cache! I wish-you-well in finding it.

Whilst in the midst of an interesting drive on the way home from Maitland to Singleton, I passed this place and thought it deserved a mention and a cache. There is some history behind this place, but I will leave that to those with an interest to research online.

Now this is a multi (or offset) cache so the co-ordinates given are not those of the actual cache, but merely a rough reference point. This is partly for the fun of it, and partly because I suspect signal strength often may not be good in this location. I won't make this too hard as there's fun in finding caches, not wasting hours for nought. Fortunately you should be able to find the cache from the information given below, even if the satellites aren't being as kind as they could.

I'm exhausted after my long drive, so I'm too tired to tell you how to get to the co-ordinates given - you'll have to work that bit out yourselves :) I will say this: There is a picnic area a few hundred metres up the road which may be the best place to park as there isn't a lot of space near the co-ordinates. Be careful in any case and look out for geokids.

While I won't spoil it by telling you what is at the co-ordinates please read the following for clues to find the cache:

The "object of interest" (for well-wishers) stands out from the scenery close to a well worn path that widens slightly here. Stand in front of the object, facing it's name. Turn to the left and walk about 12 good paces in that direction. This will bring you to the root of the last part of this problem, but it will look like an uphill battle from here! To find the treasure you desire, pass half of the wooden guide.

BYO pen / pencil just in case.
