7 DEER Multi-Cache

This cache has been archived.

Flag_Mtn_Hkrs: I enjoyed that day so long ago with my boy. We had a good day. Today we had a good day as well but it came with the pain of knowing we can't maintain this any longer. It had a great run.

Geocache Description:

A Multi to a location where the Littlest_Hkr & I followed 7 deer to the cache site.

This is a short multi cache, but it will take some time. It is 4.6 miles of rough road to the cache location. We have seen regular cars up here but not very often, and the last one I did see was changing it's tire due to a flat. The road is rough and at times very tough. If you start thinking that the road to the cache is to tough then I suggest turning around and letting this one go.

Once up near the top we parked near the old Ford and followed the ridge line to the cache location. On the way to the cache we saw the peaks peeking through the tree line. We actually did follow seven deer to the cache location. We spooked them as we got out of the cachemobile and the went up the hill. We headed the same direction and ran into them again. Neither party was in much of a hurry which made the encounter even better. Both parties headed in the same direction and this party finally found a decent location for the cache.

Please replace cache as found. We hope it stands up to at least one winter up here. If not we can always bring an ammo can to replace it with.

Leave No Trace Techniques for Geocaching

The essentials of responsible geocaching:

  • Never bury caches.

  • Never leave food items in a cache.

  • Replace rocks & other natural objects lifted during a search.

  • Find routes that minimize impact.

  • Leave places looking as if the seekers had never been there.

Enjoy the cache and have fun. Please replace it exactly as you found it so that others following you can find it exactly as intended.
