From the cache site, look west up the hill and you will see a number of concrete bases in the field. There are more in the trees on the north (right hand) side of the wall, and more still in the woods on the west (left hand) side of Mounthooly Loan. I've always known they were there, but finding out further information has proved to be difficult!
The huts were originally built for the Durham Light Infantry around 1940. During the war they were re-used as a prisoner of war camp(!), and in the immediate post-war period they were used as a displaced persons centre. I would love to know more about them, or see any pictures from this period. If anyone knows more of the history, please let me know!

I have added a waypoint for suggested parking. Alternatively, parking is available at the Klondyke Garden Centre or Stable Bar (officially for customers only). The cache is on the small side of small (but bigger than a micro), therefore not much room for swaps.
