Bridgeland is a scattered agricultural
community nine miles east of Duchesne on the old highway ( now
US-86 . The community center is located where the highway crosses
the river on an important bridge built in the early 1900's/ Mileage
was measured from this point during the early days of the town.
William Smart recommended the name Bridgeland. The bridge drew
nieghoring communities Antelope and Arcadia closer
together.
