Park at the Palmetto Trail parking area located on Foxville Road. To get to the parking area you can turn onto Foxville Road from US76/378 or take Middleton Road from SC261. This is a forest maintenance road that can be rough and rutted after heavy rains, and may be difficult to negotiate in low profile vehicles.

As you approach the creek, take note of any fishing-muggles on the bank near the bridge, and further downstream from the search area. Follow the trail to the end of the wooden bridge and take the rough stone steps that lead down to the narrow creek side path. The tree cover is heavy and will probably affect your signal, causing it to drift in the search area. There’s no need to traverse the creek or get wet as you go along.

The cache is a medium sized plastic jar that is well integrated in its environment. Please replace it as found to provide the next seeker the same challenge to find. The heavy tree cover will largely affect the difficulty rating. The terrain will be a gravel foot trail, until you get close to the search area where you will find a steep trail leading down to an overgrown area.

Watch out for fallen and leaning trees. Be aware of the possibility for snakes, spiders, wasps, ticks, mosquitoes, ants and other creatures you expect to see in a swamp, as well as ivy and green briar. Have fun and enjoy the View!
