the cache is hidden at the edge of the man-made lake in the greenbelt at natomas blvd and north park drive. there is parking where fredericksburg way dead ends into north park drive. the hike is one-tenth of a mile on an informal trail which can be a little slippery during wet weather.
this is my first cache placed in sacramento county. i felt like i was returning home, as i was raised in the carmichael area. i spent thirty years living in the county. the high school i attended, la sierra, is now defunct, but at least sac state is still going strong. oh, pardon me, i mean california state university at sacramento. i remember this natomas area being nothing but open fields. we used to hunt pheasants here. wow, what a difference! urban sprawl has been creeping north...
