This spot is about 1/3 mile from my workplace and only just over 500ft away from my cache Oxmoor Surprise . Unfortunately (and fortunately) between us is the small matter of the Manchester Ship Canal. On the map I looked at it and had a great urge to go and place a cache there.
However the road from Moore nature reserve to this spot is a private one so this gave me a far longer walk than I anticipated (it is a public footpath). In fact it was too long for a lunchbreak. The only way to get there in the required time was to run. Well I haven't done any running for "fun" since I was at school but as there was a cache at stake I got in training and after several exhaustive attempts I was finally able to get there and back in the required time.
It was well worth the effort, its a beautiful and lonely spot which I bet sees few visitors. You can look across the water to see the much more familiar area around Oxmoor Surprise. I hope you like the area as much as I did.
