Example of Wasatch Fault, Walking tour available to note different
areas where the Fault is evident.
This is a tour of the Wasatch Fault and it's affect on the Earth's
surface. The mountains have gradually shifted upward more than
10,000 Feet over the last 700 Million years, and the tour gives
excellent examples of this feature. Also evident is the valley
alluvium that has been deposited from the early inland sea from
which the Great Salt Lake was formed.
To record this cache, send the cache owner information as to how
many there are in your party, and the name of the Series that has
been lifted over the last 700 Million Years.
To insure this cache is attainable by all, it is not necessary to
take the tour that the coordinates point to, thereby making this
cache totally handicap accessible.
The Coords point to the entrance of a parking lot, (free), and
cache point is a short distance from there, approximately 10 yards
from coords.
