Geocache Description:

Park at S 33 55.990 and E 018 52.384, take a casual stroll through the park to find the cache. It is hidden under a very large tree stump. Watch out for muggels.

Once you have found the cache. Take a seat on the tree stump; looking to the East you will see the mountain named Simonsberg. There is more behind the mountain than you think. As the legend goes Simon was a giant who ruled the Stellenbosch district. He forced the farmers to give him a large part of their produce. The farmers had enough of his traitorous rule and decided to get rid of him. They held a feast in his honor. During the meal they gave him all the wine they had. When finely he past out the whole community helped to cover him with rocks and sand. This formed the mountain we now know as Simonsberg. The town of Stellenbosch lies at the foot of this mountain.

Looking at the mountain behind a row of large pine trees. Through the right hand gap between the trees you will see the head of the sleeping giant, with his gaping mouth. Further to your left you can see his hands which are lying across his chest. The highest point of the mountain is formed by his very large stomach. Further to your left you can see his feet pointing up wards.
