Cache is on top of Esja "the city mountain" of Reykjavik.There is a great view over Reykjavik and the surrounding area.
Esja is a very popular recreation area for hikers and climbers. The best known hiking path leads to the summit Þverfellshorn at 800 meters. The climb can take anywhere from 28 minutes up to 2 hours depending on weather conditions and physical state of the climber. In the summertime most adults can do the climb and even children, but great caution has to be taken in the rocks at the top. During winter when the summit is covered with snow and there is ice on the slopes it is necessary to have crampons and an ice axe. The cache is a small Tupperware box and the contents are: Pencil and a pen logbook Two signs with “Nei” Which means no in icelandic. Depill II travel bug.
