Geocache Description:

FTF: December 14, 2006 by road trip (79th find).....................................
Nice area, plenty of parking available, be on the lookout for muggles.

Rueben A. Knoblauch Heritage Park is Sumner's newest park, designed and constructed in 1995-96 at the corner of Main Street, Kincaid Avenue and Cherry Avenue. Built primarily with materials and labor donated by local individuals, families, and businesses, Heritage Park was initially made possible by a generous contribution by the late Senator Knoblauch, who served in the Washington State Legislature for 30 years before retiring in 1977. The Senator's contribution made possible the purchase of the land where the park was built, along with additional items for the park. This half acre downtown park has become a focal point for many community and family activities, including concerts, family gatherings, stage performances, community festivals, and much more - even weddings!
The names on the plaques are of the pioneers of Sumner.
Heritage Tiles were made available to families who have been in the Sumner area for at least 70 years. The tiles are 12 inches wide by 6 inches high. Text on these tiles includes the family surname and the year of settlement in the Sumner area. Heritage Tiles are located on the new fountain, which is at the 'point' of the park, at the intersection of Main Street, Kincaid Avenue, and Cherry Avenue. There are additional tiles with images of historic Sumner sites.
There are some names on the plaques, that are special to us. Three of the names are the same as our grandchildren. Lindsey, Kincaid, and Morgan. See if you can find them.

When you're finished searching for this cache, please take some time to visit downtown Sumner, as you will find friendly folks, unique and interesting shops. Also, not far from downtown is the “Old Cannery Furniture Warehouse” one of the Northwest’s largest furniture retailers and also a purveyor of excellent fudge and the Windmill Nursery which has crafts and wonderful plants.

Using the North reading N47 12.181, count the number of plaques, divide by five (5), substract the entire number from the reading to get the reading of the cache. Ignore any decimal points when doing your figuring.
Count only the plaques that are on the wall, not the ones that are in the concrete.
Bring pen to sign log.
