Geocache Description:

The glacial potholes are in a small park indicated by a sign on Hwy 17 in Keewatin. Parking area and covered walkways.

These potholes were carved by water running from and under glaciers that covered the area over 10,000 years ago. The hard granite was worn away by stones swirling around under the ice.

Northwestern Ontario has been formed by these glaciers and the work they did to move material around and deposit it far from it's source. Amazing to think how this looked 10,000 years ago, all that's happened since, and how it looks today.

To log this cache: Answer the following questions in an email to the owner:

1. What was the name of the ice sheet that covered this area?

2. How long ago?

Also provide a picture of your party at the site.
