Amador Cannonball Tribute Traditional Cache

This cache has been archived.

MonkeyDawg: Sadly, the expansion of the old train shed has encroached on the hiding spot. Thanks for all the fun logs over the years.

Geocache Description:

Everybody loves trains right?

This is a cool wooden reproduction of Rio Grande Southern Railroad's Engine 20, for use in filming of the movie "Ticket to Tomahawk", and later used in the TV show "Petticoat Junction". Interesting RR history here, and a picture here.

This is also near the site of the Amador County Museum, a great place to step back in time and learn about Amador County's rich history. The museum is currently undergoing renovation and will hopefully re-open soon. You do not need to leave the path.

Cache is a camoed cookie tin (sorry, I ate all the cookies), when hid contained:

Geo note & log, pens
Wobbly-knobbly dog toy
Sticky notes
Wooden train whistle
Train cars
"Bust FOD" sticker
Light key chain
Dinosaur
Super ball
Small basketball (GO KINGS)
Monkey nickel

Monkey Buck inside for FTF. Happy caching!

UPDATE April 27, 2011: I just read the locomotive may be headed to Durango, Colorado. Hope not!

November 2011: The train is gone but the cache is still there.
