Geocache Description:

A simple puzzle cache to lure you to downtown Akron so that my son Odin can get you to view a spectacular audio kinetic sculpture by George Rhoads named…..

Incrediball Circus!

Odin wants you to bring your kids to see this amazing mechanical sculpture full of movement and sounds! You’ll find it inside Akron’s Children’s Hospital. Be warned, you may spend 15 to 20 minutes staring at this thing! It can be mesmerizing!

Once you can pull yourself, and your kids, away from marveling at the 40+ nylon balls rolling, bounching, and making music inside the sculpture, grab the cache outside and earn your smiley! The cache is located within view of the hospital, short walk between stages. Street parking available everywhere. Parking is free after 6pm daily and free all day on the weekends, so obviously best times to hunt would be then.

The coords posted on this page will take you to the sculpture located in the main lobby. Best entrances to use are the south or the east doors. From the ground floor entrances, you’ll want to go UP a ½ level to find this 20 foot long and 9 foot high sculpture. Follow your ears if you have difficulty finding it.

To find the final puzzle cache coords you need to do some simple arithmetic with the posted coords at the top of this page and with two numerical answers found somewhere inside the Incrediball Circus. Easy.

Here are the posted coords again:

N41.04.740 W081.31.537

And here is the puzzle.

To get the Final North coords, do this:

1. How many musical wood blocks are in the sculpture?

Take the number of wood blocks and multiply it by 5.

Take that sum and SUBTRACT it from the posted North minutes of 740.

This will give you the new North minutes.

To get the Final West coords, do this:

2. How many gongs and bells total are there in the sculpture?

Take the total number of gongs and bells and multiply it by 12.

Take that sum and ADD it to the posted West minutes of 537.

This will give you the new West minutes

N41.04 and W081.31 doesn’t get changed at all.

Children’s Hospital is open 24 hours, their lobby is always open. I’m not however listing this cache as being available 24 hours. Please use common sense on how late you visit.

That’s it! Odin and I know that you will enjoy your visit!

Clue provided is for the final cache location

And to help clear some 'fog', a gong is a flat metal cymbal type of instrument, that hangs vertically.

This is the hiking viking's 90th cache in the greater Akron area.
