Note 1. DO NOT ATTEMPT TO REMOVE ANY PANELS!!!! It is not necessary to open or remove ANYTHING; the cache is well hidden so just keep looking and/or reaching. I would hate to have to shut down this cache to preserve this fine airplane!!!!!
Note 2. THE COORDINATES ARE PROBABLY A BIT OFF. Some of the aircraft have been rearranged. You're looking for the F-14 aircraft, towards its tail end.
Once upon a time, I really wanted to be a Tomcat pilot. When I was young, "Top Gun" came out... now I'm old enough to realize that some parts of that movie were, well, exaggerated to say the least, but my love for that airplane never faded. Many people involved in Naval Aviation consider the Tomcat to be the most beautiful fighter ever built, with its sleek curves, powerful engines, variable geometry, and amazing missile systems. Unfortunately, all the Tomcats have been retired since 2006 (sad, but true).
But you can still visit one, here at the Museum. While you're here, take the opportunity to learn a few facts about Pax River's flight test history as you explore the static aircraft displays. When you visit, the museum director has requested that geocachers stop in and say "Hi".
