Swan Song Traditional Cache

This cache has been archived.

Spike007: Well, after 7-1/2 years the beacon seems to have met its demise. I'm going to archive this one to make room for something new down the road. Still a great place to visit!

Geocache Description:

This cache is in a WI DNR Fishery area on the Kinnickinnic River. The river is a top-notch trout producer and beautiful any time of year. There is a nice parking area quite near the cache and marked with a brown DNR sign. Park here, walk through the swinging gate, and enjoy the scenery.

As we were scoping out a place for a cache here, two Trumpeter Swans took off from the river and over our heads - thus the name of the cache. The Trumpeter Swan is making a comeback and is a beautiful bird - perhaps you'll see one.

The Geocache Notification Form has been submitted to the land manager at the Baldwin DNR office of the Wisconsin DNR. Geocaches placed on Wisconsin Department of Natural Resouce managed lands require permission by means of a notification form. Please print out a paper copy of the notification form, fill in all required information, then submit it to the land manager. The DNR Notification form and land manager information can be obtained at: (visit link)

There is a fair amount of fishing that goes on here during trout season, so some stealth may be needed. Enjoy!
