Zalesnený vrchol SZ nad Fryšavou v oblasti Ždárských vrchu.

KRIVY JAVOR/CROOKED MEAPLE

Je to tretí nejvyšší osmistovka v této oblasti:

Pres vrchol sice nevede žádná turistická znacka, ale vystoupit na nejvyšší bod tohoto kopce není príliš složité ani na kole, ani na bežkách. Dejte se po zelené znacce z Fryšavy po pekné lesní silnicce. Cesta na Krivý javor vede po nevýrazném zalesneném hrebenu, který je v léte zarostlý docela úrodným boruvcím a na podzim spoustou hub. V zime po nem vede vetšinou dobrá bežecká stopa.
A ted k veci:
Na vrcholu totiž donedávna žádný javor nebyl, natož krivý. Parta místních chalupáru, pod vedením Radka Vichra Javor (mimochodem nestora upravování lyžarských stop v této oblasti) se rozhodla tuto skutecnost 8. kvetna 2004 napravit. Javor zasadila a dobre zalila. Od té chvíle k matení turistické verejnosti již nedochází a javor se má prozatím docela dobre k svetu.
Vrchol naleznete snadno. Nesnažte se ale najít cache na základních souradnicích! Nejprve musíte zjistit, kdy se narodil pan nadlesní Nemec (ABCD). Jeho malý pomnícek je práve na základních souradnicích. Cache je pak ukryta nedaleko vrcholu na souradnicích:

Crooked Maple is a third highest 800+ m peak in this area. There is no tourist sign on the summit, but it is not difficult to reach it by a bicycle or cross-country skis. Follow the green blazes from Frysava along a lovely wooded road. The trail to Krivy javor (Crooked Maple) goes along a mild overgrown ridge which offers plenty of blueberries and mushrooms in summer. In winter there is usually a good ski trail over the top.
And now the crux of the lokality:
Until recently there was no maple on the summit, let alone a crooked one. A group of local weekend residents led by Radek Vichr (by the way the overseer of the ski trails condition in this region) decided to correct this shortcoming on May 8, 2004. They planted a maple tree and watered it well. Parta Since then, not only the maple is thriving but mainly, the touring public is no longer confused. The summit you can find easy, but don't try to find cache at given coordinates! First you have to find a year, when the head forester mr. Nemec was born (ABCD). His small monument is just on the basic coordinates. The cache, however, is hidden nearby the summit on the the coordinates:
