The location of this cache can be found by first visiting the other 4 Let's Go Truffling caches in the Elsecar area and obtaining the part co-ordinates from the log books. The above co-ordinates are for a railway line - PLEASE DO NOT GO THERE - they are merely registered as a means of fixing the area of the cache.
The other 4 Let's Go Truffling caches are The Village, The Wood, The Pond and The Canal Basin. These caches can be visited in any order but it is suggested that the most appropriate order is Pond, Village, Canal Basin and Wood. The total route around all five caches is 3 miles.
The car parking shown on the waypoint can be used for the entire series. This is a public car park adjacent to the Heritage Centre car park. It can get busy at weekends but alternative parking can easily be found further into the village in particular near the church.
The true Main cache coordinates are N5A BC.DEF W00G HI.JKL.
The series is set in and around the village of Elsecar which is steeped in history and surrounded by some beautiful countryside. The Elsecar Heritage Centre is worthy of a visit but dog owners should be aware that they are not allowed in the Heritage Centre complex. A number of established routes pass through the village including the Trans Pennine Trail and Timberland Way and in achieving this series of caches you will visit parts of these routes.
STEALTH may well be required at all sites but in particular this Main cache site. I have tried to place all caches in locations where you have a 'reason to be there' and therefore your purpose may not be evident. PLEASE RE HIDE THE CACHE BOX WELL FOR REASONS THAT WILL BECOIME OBVIOUS.
The cache box is a 1litre tupperware style box covered in cammo tape and containing a cache card, FTF card, log book, pen, pencil, sharpener and assorted goodies including an unregistered TB for the FTF as a Christmas treat. I have also enclosed other TB's in the cache.
