Nagykörös is one of the most tarnished town between the rivers Tisza and Danube, with approximately 25.000 inhabitants.
One of the most important facts in the history of the town it that the great Hungarian poet Arany János lived and tought here between 1851 and 1860. At this time period there were many other great scientists teaching in this town.
The people of Nagykörös are very proud of this. Many institutes hold Arany János's name, e.g. grammar school, primary school, communitiy center, youth house, museum etc. One of the partner town of nagykorös is Nagyszalonta (it is located in Romania and is called Salonta), where Arany János was born.
But Arany János (and also the other scientsts) are lived there by necessity, getting off in the Bach-perod (which was a suppression in the Hungarian history). He felt reclosed and wanted to move to Pest.
The waypoints of the walk are the following:
1. Town center
In Nagykorös almost every sight is located in the center, and vice versa: in the center almost everything is a sight. Here are the buildings of the Calvinists' institutes: the church, the primary school, the grammar school and the college. Beside that he building of the court, the post office and the Roman Catholic Church is located. These buildings surround the building of the town and the building of the mayor's office. On the opposite side of the road there is the building of the community center, and here is also the building of the bus station. There are many statues it the center: Kossuth, (a communist like) freedom, Arany, world war, and there is a small fountain, too.

2. Synagogue
The synagogue is one of the few buildings which isn't located in the close town center, and it has got a townscape significance, it is worthwhile to visit it. Besides there is the building of the Weiner Leó music school.
3. Park
On the road towards Cegléd we find the building of the museum, and in front of it there are the statues of the artists and scinetists tought in Nagykorös in the 1850's. Behind there is a park, called Cifra kert, and a restaurant, called Cifra Csárda. On the opposite side of the road there is the building of the Toldi Miklós food school and the punter lake. Originally the cache was hidder here but it has been stolen several times.
