It is NOT inside a tree but is sitting on the ground underneath one of them. We own & keep this mowed but don't consider it part of our yard so WELCOME! It is also no longer an ammo can. The can, along with a couple other caches in the area, were stolen over the Labor Day weekend. It is now a large clear container appropriately disguised.
We opened our hearts to a sweet little girl mixed hound puppy. Tippy was too sweet to stay here. She was unknowingly exposed to Parvovirus before we picked her up and we lost her a week later. The kids wanted a nice way to memorialize her since we were not able to bury her so we put out a cache with her name on it. We have a nice view of the neighbors pastures and horses so it seems like a good spot.
It is on our ground along Illinois State Highway 1. We live here and my muggle husband is cool with the cache. He's outnumbered anyway - he is one and we are two. You have permission to hunt away. If you have looked at this you know that we had dogs. Two have new safe homes and the third passed away so you do not have to worry about being "outed" by them.
Your best parking is in our north driveway which is just off 1400th Rd. My kids are supposed to be making some geocache symbol signs to put out by the driveway so you know you are in the right spot. Until they get the signs done, if you are looking at a large blue house, you are at the right location.
This is a good sized container with good easy access so please feel free to consider this a "travel bug rest area". We have lots of people coming and going so it is a good location to drop one off or pick one up.
